    Responsibilities

    The Assistant Media Planner is an entry-level position responsible for day-to-day maintenance of brands. The primary goal is to provide support to, and to learn from, the Media Planning team. This position requires a level of responsibility and willingness to build experience in media planning as well as management of brands.

     

    In this role, the Assistant Media Planner will work closely with the Media Planner to manage more executional elements of the brand assignment and learn from the day-to-day experiences to build knowledge of the media planning process.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Starts to develop media knowledge base in preparation for media research responsibilities that includes: evaluating media research data; developing points of view; understanding systems applications; understanding various media and their applications against Client strategies/goals.  
    • Assists with smaller proposal evaluations and client media plans.
    • Updates Client media activity flowcharts.
    • Collects data and assists in writing competitive reports.
    • Generates media insertion orders for Clients.
    • Assists with tracking media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance.
    • Collaborates with media team members to resolve media billing issues.
    • Monitors trade publications for new media trends.

    Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree required
    • Candidate should be able to think analytically, as well as possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Position requires candidates to work independently and as part of a team with the ability to multi-task in a demanding environment

     

    Desired Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

    • Marketing/Advertising/Communications-related degree preferred, all majors accepted
    • MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
    • Marketing/Media internship preferred (not required)

    Working Conditions

    • Professional office work environment
    • Sit at desk/computer for long periods of time
    • Must be able to work overtime, as required
